How it Works

Before every election, the club decides which candidates and ballot measures it wants to endorse.  This is a two-step process.

First, the Club's Political Action Committee meets for most of a day and hears candidates and interested parties state their cases.  The purpose of this meeting is to make recommendations to the full club membership.  At the end of the meeting, the attendees vote on what recommendations to make. Members must attend the whole meeting - they must arrive on time and stay until the end.

The second step is an evening meeting at which the club's endorsements are decided.  The PAC recommendations are presented and discussed.  The final endorsements are decided by secret ballot of all those in attendance.

*The PAC and Endorsement meeting are for members only.  All club members are members of the PAC and can attend both meetings.  Any member who first joined in 2014 must have attended two regular meetings to be able to vote.  Members who joined before 2014 must be paid-up for 2014.  If you aren't sure of your status, check with Andy Fleischman at 415.641.5838.
